Tiveys Bank Regeneration Project
Frequent cattle crossings had eroded the river banks, over-widening the river and causing a build of sediment downstream.
Using live willow, the river was reduced to it's former width and original meanders reinstated.
The reinstatement of the banks has reduced flooding and created an improved habitat for wildlife and fish.
Thanks to this conservation work the abundance of plant and insect life on this stretch of the river has dramatically improved.
